The Open University is the largest provider of part-time undergraduate higher education in Wales. It is a world leader in innovative and flexible distance learning opportunities at higher education level, including undergraduate, postgraduate and access courses.

More than 16,000 students from communities right across Wales are currently studying with us. We work with businesses, charities, unions and public bodies in Wales to help them develop their staff, and encourage more people into adult learning, regardless of their background.

Our academics deliver high-quality teaching to our students, and many bring experience from working in industry and public services. They also lead on groundbreaking research, which addresses issues from improving healthcare to tackling climate change.

We have a great relationship with the charities in Wales. Our online Get Ahead with Volunteering programme has been produced with the voluntary sector and is helping volunteers across the country to develop their skills and overcome barriers to education. Our sponsorship of the Welsh Charity Awards underlines the contribution we see voluntary organisations making to lifelong learning.
