The merger of Melin and Newport City Homes on 1 April 2025 brought together two strong housing providers to create Hedyn. The new organisation owns and manages over 15,000 homes in south-east Wales and our vision is to leverage our strength as an anchor organisation to build connected communities where everyone can live well.

Our community regeneration approach ensures that every resident and community member have opportunities to become involved in their community and shape services which are inclusive and accessible and remove barriers to participation. We recognise the contribution that volunteering makes to the lifeblood of communities empowering people to build on their skills, capabilities and enhance local wellbeing, and we are therefore delighted to be associated with the Welsh Charity Awards’ Volunteer of the year award 2025!
